Casa Cusinga

San Buenas, Puntarenas, Costa Rica

Short Description

Modern home adjacent to jungle full of wildlife, minutes from Ojochal

Casa Cusinga is named after the beautiful and somewhat rare 'Cusinga' bird.
This beautifully designed, and newly constructed home (2014) sleeps up to 10 people, including the loft space. It is nestled next to the jungle in San Buenaventura de Osa (a small town just off of the paved Costanera Highway). Throughout most times of the year you can hear the stream that runs 100 feet behind
the property.

Osa Property Management will be the point of contact for all guests. Depending on the arrival time, guests may meet at the Osa Property Management office in Ojochal or directly at the home in San Buenavenutra.
Representatives from Osa Property Management will also be available via WhatsApp during normal business hours, and in the case of an emergency (property problem, health issue) anytime.

Osa Property Management also has an office located in Uvita, next to the gas station. A map to the home will be provided once the reservation is confirmed.

San Buenaventura de Osa is located 10 minutes south of Ojochal (and all of their amazing restaurants) and 15 minutes south of Uvita.

It is also located 15 minutes north of Palmar Norte/Palmar Sur. Palmar Norte has several large supermarkets, pharmacies and shopping. Palmar Sur has daily flights to/from San Jose

This is a home with private access.
Guests are free to leave and arrive any time of the day or the night.

Renters will have full private access to the home and to the private pool.
There are NO shared spaces

A private vehicle is necessary to arrive at Casa Cusinga. It is located approximately two miles from the nearest bus stop. It is flat terrain, almost 1.5 miles of pavement from the highway to the house, and the last remaining half-mile gravel. There are neither taxis nor Uber service available in San Buenaventura.

I loved this place and it’s was beautiful but no A/C or inside table to eat , there’s one outside but at night it’s hard to eat with the mosquito, there’s no hot water..

Beautiful & private location! Loved having the pool, animal sounds, & huge windows & doors!

Thanks Richael! It was a pleasure to Host you. We hope to see you again soon. Pura vida! Osa Property Management / Costa Rica Las Villas

It was secluded and felt like you were in the jungle you would wake up and hear all the sounds in the morning.
No air conditioning that was my fault because it says it has no air conditioning just ceiling fans.
But the property itself is in very poor condition. When arriving, there were so many bugs inside the house I would think that they would fumigate this before someone would arrive it was a dealbreaker for me. Our first problem was that the remote had been chewed and was not working. It took a day and a half to have someone replace it. The swimming pool was filthy and couldn’t find the skimmer so we could clean it, that also took a day and a half for someone to bring us a skimmer. But the very worst was the 2nd day I tried to do laundry the washer seems new and worked fine but when it came to drying the clothes, it wouldn’t start. It would only make this humming sound. so checking further behind the dryer, I noticed that the air duck where the carbon monoxide should be exited outside wasn’t even hooked up so I was very grateful that the dryer wasn’t working who knows what could’ve happened.

If you are used to warm showers don't stay here
The property has no hot water which is not anywhere on the listing. When asked about this I received no answer. Pool water is warmer than the showers. Additionally, the bottom door lock was broken and brought up to management. No response to that question either. It is also a bit remote if you need anything. 15-20 to Ojachal and 30 to Uvita.
