Not What Was Expected> | |
We just finished a 3 week stay in various parts of Costa Rica, and this property was easily our least favorite. It is much smaller than the pictures make it seem. The downstairs rooms leave hardly any room for luggage or maneuverability around the furniture. The clothes washer & dryer were definitely a contributing factor for us deciding to stay at this place, but the host waited until we checked in to tell us it was broken. The stairs connecting the two units are also very steep and the steps are very narrow, so be aware if you have small kids or are elderly. The check-in process was also the most laborious of any place we stayed. The property manager reached out to see what time we would be arriving, so we expected them to meet us, but when we arrived they messaged us to go to the office...why ask us what time we are going to arrive if you aren't planning on meeting us? One last thing that's good to know, the property is fairly close to a beach, but this particular beach requires payment. It would have cost our family quite a bit to go if we had chosen to go to that particular beach, so the "close to beach" feature was useless to us. Overall, it was not a good experience. |

Excellent location, next to Ballena Park + beach. Amazing view of forest. Nice pool Good kitchen + bathrooms Should improve: Not good security, house can´t be locked (2 windows and outdoor gate). No parking space! cars are left outside on street. Privacy: should provide privacy from street. Fan in lower level social area should be able to use separate from light. |

The location was great and the upstairs unit is very very nice. Nice touch having coffee there for us too. |

Our Uvita Treehouse Holiday> | |
Overall our stay was very enjoyable. We rented both the upper and lower units and were a group of 6 people. The house was clean, the kitchen was pretty well equipped, and the WiFi was quite reliable. The air-conditioning units worked well and the washer and dryer units proved useful. The units came with enough towels for bathing and for pool use. The pool was refreshing after a hot time spent at the beach and we appreciated that it was in the shade. The property was maintained by a landscape and pool company that were very professional. The walk to the beach was quick and the beach was beautiful with good surfing and spectacular sunsets - however patrons should be aware that there is a daily entry rate to pay as it is a National Park. The management company and our host Nick was responsive to our chat communication on WhatsApp and they did send over a repair crew in a reasonable amount of time to repair a stair step that was broken. We would have appreciated some pool accessories as well as some lounge chairs which the property did not have- in order to relax and enjoy the outdoor living space in a more comfortable manner. In addition, another full set of keys for both of the units would have been in order to time manage our different excursions in a better way. The parking situation is not ideal if you have 2 SUV's, but you do not need an SUV to get there by the main highway. Overall, our stay was enjoyable and we would recommend Dharma Bum Bungalow for anyone wanting to visit Uvita. |
